Our History and Mission

The Essential Image Source Foundation, founded in 1999, is a non-profit (I.R.S. 501(c)(3)) organization, located in Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Malibu, California, and North Palm Beach, Florida. Founder and President, Susan Sember, while actively engaged in her former litigation law practice, recognized, based also on her undergraduate education in television and film, the tremendous value of engaging the persuasive and sensory format of film to connect others in the education and advocacy of various causes. In addition, while producing documentary films, Susan discovered and became a firm believer in the vastly superior resolution and color, unmatched evergreen quality and significant benefits of high definition to transport viewers into a realm previously unrealized by film audiences.

As such, the foundation utilizes visually stunning, high definition images and illuminating stories aimed towards prompting the psyche, heart and soul of a variety of audiences, into raising awareness, preserving, protecting and spurring into action.

We have created successful alliances with numerous corporate, community, and philanthropic partnerships to fund the most technically advanced and creatively gripping documentaries, while at the same time, synergistically combining the interests of those in education, science, outreach, business, and entertainment.

Our high definition media team members are recruited from around the world and are acclaimed globally for their talents and expertise. Above all, it is our passion and commitment, however, that bring us together to make a difference through the most compelling art of film and new media.
